Gauchos split four games at first tournament

The Saddleback men's water polo team split its four games during the first of two men's water polo tournaments that it hosts each year.

The Gauchos opened the tournament with setbacks by both Cerritos College (16-9) and Chaffey College (13-7) on the first day but bounced back to post a 16-8 victory over Santa Monica on the second day and a narrow 11-10 victory over El Camino in the final game of the tournament.

Saddleback will participate in the Santa Monica tournament on Friday, Oct. 17, and have Orange Empire Conference games each Wednesday before hosting its second tournament of the season on Friday and Saturday, October 31 and November 1.
