After falling behind early in the game, the Lady Hornets valiantly fought back in a much-needed conference game, but it was not enough as they were edged out 68-66 at Riverside City College Wednesday night.
The loss gives FC an overall record of 4-10 overall and 0-2 in the Orange Empire Conference.
RCC's Jessica Reed dropped in a pair of free throws for her only points of the game with 24 seconds to play to help the Tigers advance their record to 13-6 overall and 3-0 in the OEC.
Fullerton guard Nancy De La Cruz hit a three-pointer with eight seconds left, but that was all the scoring the Hornets could muster for the rest of the game.
Falling behind 24-14, after the first quarter, Fullerton outscored the Tigers in each of the next three quarters but could not catch the hosts.
FC's Emilee Dy scored a co-game-high 21 points with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Monica Hana played well coming off the bench to drop in 18 points with 14 rebounds for the double-double. Jamee Katsuyama and Nancy De la Cruz put up 8 points each with De La Cruz also bringing down 8 boards.
