MEN’S BASKETBALL: NOT ENOUGH FIREPOWER

Riverside (6-10 overall, 1-0 OEC) racked up a significant 30-12 lead over the Hornets (2-16, 0-1) with 3:01 left to play in the first half. FC made a small run at the Tiger's lead closing the gap 36-22 by the end of the half.

Fullerton opened up the second half with some fight and managed to shorten RCC's lead at 48-44 with 6:59 left in the game.

The Tiger's sophomore guard Will Taylor put a stop to the Hornet run stringing together a tip-in, a free throw, a lay-in, and a jump shot in a span of two minutes. Riverside broke open the game with a 59-49 lead with 3:04 to play.

Hornet guard Austyn Thompson came off the bench to lead the Hornets with 18 points while sophomore guard Kristopher Nelson scored 12 points, with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.

The Tigers dominated the boards out-rebounding the Hornets 58-19.

Up Next: Fullerton will host Orange Coast College (2-11, 0-1) this Friday, January 9th in the Hornets Nest at 7:00 pm.
