Rustle and Roar: Win Over Golden West in Home Opener

In a thrilling home match against Golden West College, the Men's volleyball team won in a hard-fought battle that went down to the wire. With the stands packed and the atmosphere charged with energy, both teams delivered a display of skill and determination that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

The intensity of the match was clear from the start, with neither team willing to concede ground. The first set saw the Corsairs narrowly clinch victory with a tense score of 30-28, setting the stage for a fiercely contested encounter. Golden West College fought back fiercely, but SMC maintained their composure to secure wins in the second and third sets with scores of 25-23 each.

It was another great performance of all first line-up players with the lead of Opposite Luis Garzon who managed to shut down GW's Outsides. Cameron Taylor entered the match in the 3rd set and managed to keep the defensive line steady. The energy in the Pavilion was electric as fans rallied behind the Corsairs. In the end, it was Santa Monica College's unwavering teamwork and resilience that propelled them to victory in their first home match of the season.
