VENTURA, CA (11/2/2019) – In the final game at the Ventura Tournament, Palomar lost 77-73 to Riverside City College. Palomar was up 42-37 at the half, but got outscored 40-31 in the second to give Riverside the win.
Anthony Brewer led the team with 16 points. He was 6-12 in the field and 1-5 beyond the arc. Hunter Perry had 15 points and was 5-7 on field goals and 5-7 on three-pointers. Antonio Green had 11 points for the Comets going 4-11 on field goals and 1-4 on three-pointers.
The team shot 42.6 percent in the field and 40 percent beyond the arc. Green and Brewer were both perfect at the charity stripe going 2-2 and 3-3 respectively. The Comets committed 16 turnovers but caused 22. Palomar scored 19 points off turnovers.
The Comets are now 2-1 and will face Long Beach College on Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. on the road before they have their home opener against Cerritos College on Nov. 20 at 6 p.m.
