WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: FINAL WIN & ALL-OEC

In the wake of their 3-2 win over Santiago Canyon College in the final game of the season, two Hornets earned All-Orange Empire Conference honors.

Fullerton finished the season on a positive note Wednesday, edging out the SCC Hawks 3-2: 20-25, 25-16, 25-23, 22-25, 15-10.

Shawnee Longmeyer had one of best games hammering down 25 kills. Kristine Perez produced 8 kills and Cambria Schuitema had 6. Sydney Maldonado had 27 assists with 17 digs. Paige Tillman chipped in with 14 assists and 12 digs.

The 2016 All-OEC team was announced with freshman Rebecca Hicks receiving 1st team honors. In 21 matches, Hicks accumulated 127 kills, 31 digs, 21 solo blocks, and 24 assisted blocks.

Playing in only 14 matches this season due to injury, Shawnee Longmeyer made her presence felt earning an All-OEC second team nod. A sophomore, Longmeyer led the Hornets in kills with 207. She also racked up 71 digs, 4 solo blocks,  and 10 assisted blocks.
