Cypress Comeback

Cypress Comeback

CYPRESS, Calif. ---  The Cypress Chargers Women's Volleyball team continued to keep their winning streak alive on Wednesday night when they defeated the Riverside Tigers in a tough five set match.

Riverside shocked Cypress by winning the first two sets (25-21),(25-22). The first set loss was the first one for the Chargers since October 18th vs. Santa Ana.

After a slow start, the determined Chargers heated up and took the nail biting third set by a score of (25-23).  The confidence boost helped Cypress take control of the match in set number four.  The Lady Chargers scored the first 11 points in the fourth set and never looked back.  The (25-7) victory made the count (2-2) heading into the decisive fifth set matchup.

Up (8-7) in the fifth set, the Chargers took the next seven out of nine points against the Tigers and defeated Riverside, (15-9).  The (3-2) victory makes Cypress (13-6) on the season and puts them only one game back behind Golden West for the second place spot in the Orange Empire Conference.

Cypress extends their winning streak to six games and will travel to face the undefeated Lasers from Irvine Valley College on Nov. 8th, starting at 6 pm.
