WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: HORNETS DEFLECT LASERS

The FC women's volleyball squad upset Irvine Valley College on the road Wednesday night handing the Lasers their first Orange Empire Conference loss on the season 3-1: 25-21, 19-25, 25-23, 25-21.

The win gives #23 in the state Fullerton an 8-4 overall record, and they now are in the mix sitting in second place in the OEC with a conference record of 3-1. The Laser loss has #16 IVC at 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the OEC.

The Hornets were led by Azucena Duarte who hammered down 17 kills, scooped 8 digs, and had 4 aces. Grace Lopez and Alex Winfield were also big contributors as Lopez had 11 kills and Winfield had 14 kills with 14 assists. Carly Bergen had a big night dishing out 39 assists and 5 aces. Kaylee Bergen also helped out with 9 kills of her own, and Mikki Sale was big with 20 digs.

Up Next: Fullerton will do their best to keep their winning ways going when they host Santa Ana College this Friday, October 16th in the South Gym at 6:00 pm. Come on out and support the team!
