On the Rise

CYPRESS, Calif. --- After losing to Golden West on October 9th, the Chargers have transformed into an entirely different team.  Cypress came into tonights matchup winning five of its last six games and continued to keep the streak alive.

The first set went (25-19) in the Chargers favor.  Following a solid first set, the Chargers found themselves down in set number two by a score of (14-6).  Cypress continued fighting and eventually found themselves in a tie game (22-22).  The Chargers took the next three points and took a confident (2-0) lead at that point.

Cypress eventually took the final set and defeated the Rustlers (25-23).  

The Chargers have now won five straight and recorded their fourth straight shutout victory.

Mya Shannon was the highlight of the night for Cypress.  Shannon recorded a team high 14 kills and stayed persistent on the net the entire night. 

Allyson Dekruyf had an all around game for the Chargers.  Dekruyf recorded 35 assists, eight digs and six kills for the Lady Chargers.

Holly Webster led the team in digs with 25 and also recorded an ace for the Chargers.

Ani Green controlled the net on the defensive side of the ball and blocked 10 balls for Cypress.

This victory moves the Chargers up to third place in the OEC standings and puts them one game back from second place.  

The Chargers will continue to ride their momentum when they face Riverside at home on Wednesday, Nov. 6th.  The Chargers defeated Riverside back on Oct. 11 (3-2).
