MEN'S BASKETBALL: DONS TOO MUCH FOR HORNETS

The FC men's basketball team fought hard at home against the Santa Ana Dons Friday night, but it was not enough to secure their second Orange Empire Conference when losing to the Dons73-65.

It was a very close contest that featured 8 ties and 7 lead changes. By the end of the half, Santa Ana held a narrow 39-38 lead.

In the second half, the game remained close until the 8:59 when SAC began a 10-2 run and never gave up the lead.

The Dons had two former Hornets in Ramez Michail and Kyle Kintzle playing on their team and they took advantage of their familiarity of Fullerton's court scoring 21 points together (Michail 12 and Kintzle 9).

Ryan Magee and Kristopher Nelson both out up 15 points each for a game-high. Jake McCloskey scored 11 points while Adam Johnson and Isaiah Cark both put up 8 points.

The loss gives the Hornets an overall record of 3-12, and an OEC record of 1-8. The win boosts Santa Ana's overall record to 13-10 and lifts their Orange Empire Conference record to 5-3 keep in them in line for a playoff spot.
