BASEBALL: SOLID PITCHING

With the Hornet bats going a bit cold the past few games, pitcher Dylan Prohoroff brought his stuff on Tuesday dropping 10 K's on Riverside City College for a 3-2 OEC home win.

The game was scoreless until the seventh inning when 2B Laine Huffman singled through the left side of the field scoring CF Julio Rivera. Justin Row reached first on a Tiger error allowing pinch hitter Riley Roberts to cross home plate. 1B Oscar Heredia hit a sacrifice fly to center field and LF Anthony Seminaris sprinted home from third.

Up 3-0 heading into the top of the eighth, Riverside put up a run on Israel Fuentes' double to left field scoring Brody Weiss.

In the top of the ninth, RCC put a scare into the Hornets scoring their second run of the game on a wild pitch. With two runners on base, FC closer Randall Ortiz came in to end the threat earning his third save on the season.

Prohoroff (5-1) locked down his fifth win going 7.1 innings with 4 hits against, 1, earned run, 3 walks, and 10 strikeouts. Relief pitcher Nico Castaneda threw .02 with 2 hits against and Ortiz went.02 with no hits and a walk.

Up Next: Fullerton (14-5, 4-2) will travel down the road to Cypress College this Thursday, March 12th for another Orange Empire Conference match-up. The first pitch goes out at 2:00 pm.
