Chargers Shutout Fullerton at Home 3-0
Cypress Calif.- The Cypress College softball team (25-6, 11-3 OEC) defeated the visiting Fullerton Hornets (19-12, 8-7 OEC) in a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Cypress pitcher Taylor Pierce (12-5) led the Chargers from the mound with her first shutout victory of the season. Pierce pitched a complete game for the Chargers, allowing only three hits and one walk, while collecting five strike outs on the day. All three runs for the Chargers were scored in the bottom of the third inning. Alejandra Guillen scored on a wild pitch, Briana Gonzalez scored on a passed ball, and Jezz Portillo scored on a sacrifice fly hit by Taylor Pierce to give them a 3-0 lead. Justice Walker led Cypress with two hits in three at bats.
 
Chargers softball will go on the road next to face Riverside (10-19, 4-9 OEC) on Wednesday, April 1 at 5:00 pm and return for their last regular season home game against Santa Ana (19-10, 11-2 OEC) on Wednesday, April 8 at 3:00 pm.​
