CYPRESS, Calif. --- The Chargers were able to find a groove on the offensive side of the ball when they faced the visiting College of the Desert Roadrunners on Tuesday afternoon.  The unselfish play of the offense was something that stood out for the Chargers, considering four different Cypress players hit the back of the net.

Going into the half, Cypress was leading College of the Desert, (1-0).  The Chargers only goal in the first 45 minutes came from Shawn Hansen.  Hansen made a nice move in the 20th minute and was able to punch one in, putting Cypress on the board.

Josh Alcalde was the main standout today for the Chargers.  Alcalde was able to knock in a goal during the 59th minute, as well as another laser beam goal in the 71st minute. Alcalde's second goal came when Jorge Gonzalez made a very impressive pass through the middle of the field.  Gonzalez was able to place the ball perfectly and recorded the assist for the Chargers.

In-between Alcalde's goals, Jesus Ibarra had an impressive header in the 68th minute to put the Chargers up 3-0 at that point in the game.

Johnny Garcia also got on the board this afternoon for the Chargers when he punched one in during the 88th minute.  Garcia's goal sealed the deal for Cypress as they were able to walk off Ray Haas field with a 5-2 victory.

Cypress plays El Camino at home on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 3:00 pm.
