SOFTBALL: HORNETS MERCY THE WOLVERINES

The FC softball team won their home opener in convincing fashion defeating San Bernardino Valley College 8-0 on Wednesday.

Before the game, Fullerton College President Dr. Greg Schulz tossed the first pitch marking the beginning of a successful 2016 season. Check out the video!

FC sophomore pitcher Brigid Ruiz was outstanding in the circle throwing five shutout innings. She had 5 strikeouts on the day.

The Hornets got it going early scoring 4 runs in the first inning. 3B Miranda Hernandez was the first to cross the plate on a SBVC throwing error. 1B Alyssa Dilay knocked in DP Erin Molina, and LF Tiffiny Centeno hit a hard single up the middle of the field scoring Dilay and CF Becca Perez.

Dilay hit another single in the third, and pinch runner Arianna Ramirez came in to score another run on a wild pitch.

Centeno struck again in the fourth blasting a base-loaded triple to left center field scoring three Hornet runners.

Coming up big for the Hornets was Centeno who went 2-2 with 5 RBI. Also coming through offensively were Perez (2 hits/2runs), Dilay (2 hits/run), and Hernandez (2 hits/run).
