The #9 Lady Hornets knocked out two ranked teams on Friday while playing at the College of the Canyons mini tourney.
In game one, FC dropped the mercy hammer on #5 El Camino College 9-1 in 6 innings. Designated Player Miranda Hernandez was 2-3 at the plate and crossed home plate three times. CF Becca Perez was 2-4 with 3 runs and 3 RBI. 1B Alyssa Dilay was 2-4 with 2 runs and 3B Evelyn Hernandez was 2-2 with 1 run scored.
Pitcher Brigid Ruiz was dominate for the Hornets going 6 innings with 6 strikeouts allowing only one run.
Game two had the Hornets playing against the host #10 College of the Canyons. By the second inning, Fullerton took 5-1, but the Cougars clawed their way back in the sixth tying the game up at six apiece. FC went ahead in the top of the seventh on a SAC fly to deep right field by Desiree Lopez scoring Perez.
FC pitcher Ruiz held off COC in the seventh forcing a ground out, a pop up, and a strikeout looking for the win.
