BIG WIN OVER THE RUSTLERS

BIG WIN OVER THE RUSTLERS

The FC men's basketball squad kick-started the Orange Empire Conference season with a record-breaking win over Golden West College 113-58.

It was a good way to begin conference-play for Fullerton as the back-to-back (2021-22 and 2222-23) champs are 10-3 overall and 1-0 in the OEC looking for the three-peat. The Rustler loss lands the team at 1-12 overall and 0-1 in the Orange Empire Conference.

Six players scored in double-figures as the Hornets broke the record for most points in a half with 64 in the very first half of the game. The previous record was produced by last season's state champs scoring 61 against Orange Coast on February 3, 2023. Godfrey Little was hot shooting 7-11 from the floor (4-7 from beyond the arc) for a game-high 18 points. Jeremiah Davis and Amound Anderson II both scored 14 points, and Christian Watson dropped in 13. Alex Archer scored 12 as did Andrew Pipersburgh, who was  good for his first double-double as a Hornet. Most impressive, was Pipersburgh's 16 rebounds in a game, which was the most in recent memory. The record is held by Bill Davis (1978-79) with 23.

Overall, the Hornets had 34 total assists, 49 rebounds, 8 steals, and shot 58.4% to GWC's 31% from the floor.

Up Next: The No. 5 in state Hornets (10-3 overall, 1-0 OEC) will travel to Santa Ana College this Thursday, December 21st for the second OEC game on the schedule before the Holiday break. Tipoff is at 5:00 pm.
